A New House Siding to Stop the Bleeding!

posted on 23 February 2012

If I changed anything about my home currently I would change the outer material or siding. It would be time to get out my telescopic ladders and get to work on the exterior. This is because of necessity rather than a desire for change. When I bought the house the outside was painted a very dull red color. So we hired a painter the first year and they stripped it only to find out the red color was more in the wood than the actual paint. With a coat of primer and a nice white finish, the house had become white only to have the red of the wood bleed through over time. Almost as if the home was bleeding on the outside. So now I paint it once a year. Now I just want to replace the whole wooden side of the house which ‘bleeds’ through every year. Most painters say it is because I live near a lake and the moisture from the water causes the painting to become thinner over time. In either case, I simply want to get rid of it.
